In 2012, Alex campaigned on one issue above all: Peachtree Corners had enough apartments, and the new city needed to protect its ownership housing balance instead of letting it slide further toward rental.
Fourteen years later, he has maintained the most consistent record on City Council.

Key Policy & Fiscal Victories
Changing the Rules for Developers
After a wave of office-to-apartment conversion proposals in 2023–2024, Alex supported a six-month moratorium on new mixed-use proposals. The result: the Comprehensive Plan language changed from "rental product preferred" to "equity housing product preferred" across all 7 newly-created zoning districts — giving future Councils stronger legal footing to reject unwanted rentals.
The Opportunity Fund
In 2017, frustrated by reliance on borrowing, Alex pushed to create a dedicated Opportunity Fund — cash set aside specifically for strategic purchases without debt. In July 2026, that fund paid $3.25 million in cash — zero debt, zero interest — for the former CineBistro building at Town Center (appraised at nearly $5M).
Curiosity Lab at Peachtree Corners
Alex originated the idea in 2016 for an autonomous vehicle test track in Tech Park and successfully championed seed funding.

Town Center & Town Green
Alex served on the 3-person team that negotiated with developers in 2013 to keep 300 apartments off the land and create the Town Green.
- Dog Park (2024): Dedicated community amenity for pet owners (pictured below with Murphy).
- Fort Pain: One-of-a-kind outdoor obstacle course in the country and open to the public 7 days a week.
- Tot Lot & Playgrounds: Prime mover behind approval and construction.
- Veterans Monument: Co-originated with Mayor Mike Mason.

Founded in 2021 and held annually at Fort Pain. Now in its 5th year, drawing competitors of all ages and fitness levels from across the metro area. Alex remains on the volunteer organizing committee and competes annually.
